I am a registered provider with all the main private health insurance companies, including Bupa, AXA PPP, Aviva, Healix, PruHealth, Cigna, Vitality, Simply Health, Allianz Partners and WPA. For self-funded individuals and couples, I will email you an invoice following each appointment, unless agreed otherwise. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or BACS.

I have private health insurance, how do I use this to cover the cost of my therapy?

In the first instance, you can contact your private health insurance company to check you are covered. They will advise you on your policy, which may be a set sum allocated for therapy, or it may be a set number of appointments authorised.

Your private health insurance company will provide you with an authorisation code, which I will ask you for before we begin therapy. This enables me to invoice the insurer directly for your appointments.

What if I need to cancel and reschedule my appointment with you?

From time to time, due to circumstances beyond your control, I understand that you may need to cancel and reschedule your appointment.

If you need to make a cancellation, please ensure that you provide me with at least 48 hours notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged at the full fee, unless otherwise agreed.

Please note that insurance companies are unlikely to cover the cost of cancelled appointments, so you may be liable for this charge yourself when using insurance cover for your appointments.

Will my appointments with you be confidential?

For example, your G.P., Psychiatrist, or another health professional, who may have referred you to me. In these circumstances, it may be helpful for me to communicate with your referrer about our work together.

If I am concerned that you are at risk of harming yourself, of causing harm to others or are at risk of harm from another person, I may need to share information with a trusted close contact of yours, or another professional. I will discuss this with you before speaking with anyone else.

What do I do if I need help in a crisis?

What do I do if I need help in a crisis?

Unfortunately, I am not able to provide an emergency or crisis service.

If you are in crisis, you can make an emergency appointment with your G.P., or telephone the G.P. surgery out-of-hours service, if you need help outside of office hours.

If you require urgent help and are at risk of hurting yourself, you can attend your local Accident and Emergency department and ask to speak with a mental health professional.

If you are already have contact with an NHS mental health team, you should have been given a care plan. This will contain details of who you can contact in a crisis.

If you want to talk to someone in confidence, other than your family or friends, you can contact The Samaritans by telephone: 116 123 or by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
